Another Birthday Project

I am little late getting this posted,

okay, okay

a LOT late!

Summer is a busy time around here, as I am sure it is in your households. But boy are we loving it!

I wanted to make my little man a birthday sign, and I had seen so many cute one's done out of paper, that I thought fabric would be adorable too.

And it was!

I had a fabulous plan to hang it on his new swingset outside, but that darn winter weather that we were experiencing here (in june) didn't agree with me. We found a spot for it though.

♣I used all scraps. They didn't all match, but that was the fun of it!
♣I ironed some stiff interfacing to the back of the scraps, and then used my pinking shears to cut out the triangles.
♣I ironed on the letters, and didn't plan on stitching around them, but the white fabric was a little transparent and needed a little help. It still looked cute.
♣ Then I sewed some ric rac across the tops to string them together, and viola!
It is now folded up nicely in my closet waiting for his next birthday! I can't wait to make my daughter one for her upcoming special day!

Help!

Hi all!

Hope you had a great weekend. I know we are sure enjoying this fabulous weather!

I had oodles of time this weekend to work on my first quilt, Hurray!

And now it is almost finished, Double Hurray!

But I am in need of some help. I am ready to have it quilted and don't know who to take it to. Do any of you know anyone who quilts in the Rexburg, Rigby or Idaho Falls area? I don't know of anyone. If you have a minute and know someone, please let me know. I will be eternally grateful!

Leave a message or email me at asweetbyram@yahoo.com

Thanks so much!

I'll be back tomorrow with some new prints for the shop!

Good grief, I just don't have time for all these sweet projects!

The Orchid Colorway
The Sorbet Colorway

My Monkey is Four!

REMINDER: No shop hours this week!
The shop in my home will be closed Tuesday June15th and Thursday June 17th!

Today is my son's 4th Birthday. And he is napping (we've had a busy morning) so I thought I would share a few projects.
When my son saw me open a box of fabric a few months ago, he squealed in delight.
Monkeys.
He loves monkeys.
And he asked me to make him something with the monkeys.
It took me a few months, but I am FINALLY finished! And just in time for his birthday!

I started with a quilt. Just some basic squares and strips. It was really easy, except for the quilting. Grrrrrr.
I have offically quit trying to quilt on my regular sewing machine.
Too many tears.
He will be able to looks past all the tucks. All he cares about are the monkeys!

And of course he needs a monkey pillow!

I would say pillowcases are my favorite projects. Easy, fast, and adorable!
I just laid out a pillowcase on my fabric and cut it the same size.
Like I said, SEW easy!

Blanket and pillow. The perfect combination for a good rest.

Yup, he looks pretty comfy!

Closed Next Week

Hi all!

The Fabric Store will NOT have open shop hours next week, Tuesday June15th and Thursday June17th.

My home will NOT be open for shopping on those days as I am heading out to do a little fabric shopping of my own and restock our shelves.

The online shop will still be available for browsing and shopping. My husband will be manning it from home. So if you have a FABRIC EMERGENCY (as I know we all do occasionally) you will still be able to place an order online.

Shop hours will resume as normal on June 22nd and 24th!

Feel free to email with any questions you may have!

And now I will leave you with a little sneak peak of some fabric that we are expecting by the end of the week.

Tufted Tweets!
There are 12 prints in all. I just had to order the entire collection. I couldn't help myself :)
