Farmdale

This past week we received Farmdale from Alexander Henry Fabrics.
We are missing a few prints from the collection, but they should be here in the next month or so.
Isn't it cute?

We have a lot of new collections coming this month,
but as always,
we must be patient and wait for them to arrive.
Okay, I am the one who needs to be patient.
I just can't wait!

Here is a mere sampling of a few collections that we hope to have by the end of the week!
There are lots more prints from each collection :)

Long Overdue

Yes, almost 1 year ago,

I ordered these prints...

Amy Butler's Lotus Collection reprints.

Morning Glory in Linen and Wallflower in Cherry

And on Friday they finally arrived!

I may have done a little dance ;)

And I couldn't wait to cut into it!

My kids' playroom window needed some definite help.
It WAS drab and dreary.
And now it is spunky!

The rest of windows in my basement now look very bare. A problem I will quickly remedy!

I also finished my 2nd quilt today!
Now it is off to the quilter's for a marvelous transformation!

Here is a sneak peak!

Woodland Fantasy

WEE WOODLAND by Keiki for Moda arrived yesterday!

I already want summer to be over (just so I can rip into this collection)

But I won't be praying for snow just yet ;)

We have 8 prints from this collection-plus layer cakes and Fat Quarter sets that will arrive later this week!

We also added 1/2" Ric Rack in 8 new colors!
And the same colors in JUMBO size!

The Life's A Hoot Collection by Adornit has quickly become a favorite!
So I decided to add the coordinating ribbons to the shop!

1/2" and 1/4" Grossgrain Ribbon

My First

This was weeks/almost months in the making.

But I finally did it.

I made my first quilt!

Thank you, thank you.
(as I'm sure you are all cheering for me)

And what's even more unbeleivable is that there weren't any tears shed in the process.
Okay,
there may have been a few tears when I was laying it all out on the floor, and had all the squares where I wanted them, and my daughter came blowing in the room like a tornado and accidentally rearranged them all.
A few tears, and a near beating, and all is well.

I have always really loved the Whimsy line by Fig Tree, so I based the quilt around those few prints of that line that I have. I love that the blocks are somewhat random and don't really have to match at all. Some were even scraps that I had!

Let me tell you though, sewing ric rac to be 1/2 showing is quite a skill. I may have sewn and unpicked that a few times.

I already have a plan for my next quilt!
I loved this one.
Quilting is not as intimidating as I once thought it was.

And Camille does a fabulous job explaining the steps in her patterns.
This is the one I used, and it is available in the shop.
Don't let quilting scare you. It really is a lot of fun!

I have had my hands on these sweet little babies for about a month or so, and finally decided that I was being selfish. So now they are listed in the shop. It will be hard for me to part with these, as these collections don't come of for a month or two.

A few other Fat Quarters sets that are now listed in the shop are:

Boo To You from Riley Blake Designs

Felicity from Riley Blake Designs

Andrea Victoria from Riley Blake Designs

Saltbox Harvest by Deb Strain for Moda
also arrived this week.
Isn't it fabulous?

New Patterns:

Saltwater Taffy by Fig Tree. Um....Delish!

Two new skirt patterns,
Hip Skirts for Women, and Little Hip Skirts for little ones!

The Audrey Wrap Skirt & Polkadots and Summer Dress Patterns by Fig Tree.

Are you exhausted yet?

Did I mention that we also got in 11 new colors of ric rac this week!
I'll save those for another day.

Good News & Bad News

Bad News:
Today was our last day for shop hours.

It was something I wanted to try out for the summer, but soon realized that appointments may work better for us all.

After all, it is hard to try and keep my kids sane for the 3 hours I am open.
Sad that they can't behave well for 3 hours, but true.

We are still open for you to make appointments to come over and shop around.

Mornings... afternoons... evenings... weekends...it all works. Just email me or call me to set up a time that you would like to come over and shop around.
I love having you come visit!

I love sharing my love/obsession for fabric with you!

Please don't be a stranger. Call anytime!

And now for the good news!

I finally finished a project I was working on.

This bag turned out so cute!
I wish I could have gotten a picture of my daughter with it slung over her shoulder.
Maybe tomorrow.
Too cute!

We carry this pattern in the shop.
I think it is my new favorite.
Not too hard, and the perfect amount of cutesy.

Happy Sewing!
