A little bit of sunshine

Sometimes in the middle winter, I need a little summer.
A little bit of sunshine.
Pin ItI think at some point we all do!

My kitchen was a little drab and dreary so I decided to add some serious color.
I found this adorable little dresser at it was love at first sight!

The insides are old.
The entire thing is old antique.
I decided that the inside of the drawers deserved to be just as pretty as the outside.
Oh dear. Choosing the fabric was a daunting task.
The Prince Charming collection has just the perfect colors,
but I finally settled on the
Thank you Joel Dewberry!

I cut a piece the size of the inside of the drawer. Laid it inside the drawer, and traced the design of the top two drawers onto it and then cut it out.

Then I grabbed my best friend....

And did a little painting. Not too much, just enough to make it sticky.
I started at one end and just added a bit more Mod Podge little by little as I rolled out the fabric.
This helped me to ensure a smooth fit.
Ahh, so much better.

Does your Winter need a little sunshine?

Might I suggest a few collections sure to brighten your day:

Heirloom by Joel Dewberry

Impressions by Ty Pennington
Just Wing It from Moda

Modern Affair by Pat Bravo

I hope these collections brighten your day!

Have a great weekend everyone.
Full of sunshine and sewing!

Daydream Sale!

Last summer I did a little "Daydreaming" and apparently neglected to show you some cute little quilts I made for my daughters' new room.

I love the "Daydream" collection by Stitch Studios and Riley Blake Designs
It is so sweet and so elegant.

It was the perfect collection for her room.

I have had this little lace trim forever, and was so excited to use it on the pillows.

And the curtains, I LOVE some ruffled curtains!

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I totally machine bound both quilts.
My fingers just weren't up to hand binding.
I was in fact 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time :)

I love the soft and vintage feel this collection has.

I found this absolutely perfect print on Etsy from one of Michael Miller's very own fabric designers

Sarah Jane Studios

She just came out with her first fabric collection, and wouldn't you know we have it in the shop,

She is so talented!

So, do you like to "Daydream"?
If so, you are in luck.

Daydream will be on Sale all week long for only $6.75/ yard!

This collection totally sings "Easter Dresses" to me

*For the Quilts*

I cut two 7" wide strips from each print, and sewed them into one really long piece.
Added some 2" cream sashing in between and viola!
Not a lot of math, and a simple and cute design.

Happy Sewing!

"Hearts on a String" Valentines Pillow

Happy February!

Did you know February is my FAVORITE.
Absolute favorite.

It might have to do a little bit with my Birthday making an appearance this month,
and Valentine's Day,
and the color PINK!

I love all the above!

Do you follow Diary of a Quilter?
If not, you totally should!
Amy creates the most amazing things!

Last year she had a tutorial for this sweet little pillow, and wouldn't you know, it took me an entire year to get around to it!
So happy I did!
I love it!

My house could never have too many Valentines decorations.

 Remember last years' addition?

I still adore this table runner!

And the rosette wreath still brightens up my day.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, but there is still time to finish up those sweet red and pink projects!

Here are a few of my FAVORITE collections that would work perfectly for any Valentine's Project
