New Fabric Friday- Bluebird Park

We have a short and sweet New Fabric Friday for ya'll.

New in this week is
for Moda

I loved this collection so much when I saw it a few months ago, that I had to order
THE ENTIRE COLLECTION!
It is that cute!

Isn't the panel the cutest!  Oh the possibilities. Quiet books, quilt squares. How cute would one those tags be appliqued onto a gift for that special someone? Love!

The floral designs are timeless, and the park scene is just plain adorable.

I think the bikes and bunnies speak for themselves.....precious as can be.

And last, but not least, the Hedge Hogs.  Who doesn't love Hedge Hogs!

We are hoping to have all the precuts in soon, but you can snag a Custom Fat Quarter Set of the collection HERE right now.

Now,
I hope you all get out this weekend and enjoy these last few days of Fall!

 I know we will!

Scalloped Bunting Tutorial

My sweet little cowgirl turned 5 this week.
So naturally I felt the need to throw a fun party and find an excuse to make some cute bunting!

It was so easy ladies, took me a whole 1/2 hour is all.

Step 1:  Leave your strip just as it was cut, wrong sides together, with the fold along the bottom.
Step 2: Take your template (you could even make a paper one), and lay it on top the double layered fabric.
Step 3: I traced two half circles onto the fabric because I wanted two of each print, you could make as many as you want!

Step 4: Then I sewed a basic stitch about 1/4" or so inside the traced line, all the way around the scallop.
See how the fabric is still double layered?  This way the banner will be cute from both sides.
Step 5: Once I had sewed around all 22 scallops, It was time to cut them out.
I cut along the traced line, actually just a little bit inside the traced line to make sure I didn't end up with any pen on my finished banner.

Step 6: The next step is to connect the 22 scallops. I just sewed a straight stitch again along the top of the scallop, and when I got to the end of the scallop, I just pushed another one right next to it and fed it through the machine.  So they are just connect with thread. They drape so much nicer this way.
So the top of each scallop has been stitched twice. Hope that makes sense!

 Ta Da!  All Done!

It truly was sew stink'n easy!

So, do you want to see how the party turned out?

It was so cute.

The little Cowgirls participated in a little stick horse barrel racing

And of course I had to dress up those barrels with a little more fabric!

And the bunting made a fabulous backdrop!

I think all the cowgirls had a great time.

It's a good thing I have a room full of fabric, when I ran out of ribbon I just snagged THIS cute pink houndstooth and tied it around the vase. Phew.  Fabric to the rescue!

The possibilities with this bunting are endless.
